The Street Writing project now has over 50 photographs in it. I’ve been told that if I can amass 100 or 200 of them that I may be able to publish a book. We’ll see.. if I can gather that many and if this project holds my attention for that long.
My parents are in Virginia/DC visiting with Kelly & Jeff right now. Tomorrow they’ll be in NYC. Updates to the site.. they’ll be sporadic or maybe not at all.
it’s amusing how you can watch the progression from spring, to summer, and now to fall and tell the season from the jacket presense and the footwear.
Wonderful street writing photos. Would you mind if I put one of them on my blog (http://nuggets.blogspot.com) and then point to the archive?
Thanks
sure, howard. just so you credit me that’s fine
Absolutely. thanks
cool. im glad you like them
Ooh mommy! Ooh daddy! Let me show you ’round the big mean city!
you should definitely look into publishing a book. a woman in my building recently published a book on nyc manhole covers. think of all the ipods you could buy with your profits!
nice images, i look forward to seeing more! if you like street art, check out http://www.woostercollective.com
Did you see you’re on Gawker.com today??
Ooh! Our little blonde girl is such a celebrity!!
Great pictures! I love that your feet are in each one. I have an NYC image collecting project called Tagmobiles, photographing graffiti-covered delivery trucks. It’s a public photoblog, so feel free to post pix to it by e-mailing tagmobiles.gogogo@textamerica.com. I wonder how many city people keep these kinds of photo collections…
What? 100 or 200 photos? Oh, you poor baby, that’s so many
I really like the photos (and I blogged you here if you don’t believe me). There’s something situationist about sidewalk art, and there’s something situationist about walking around with a digicam and taking pics of them. “Artwork as found object” etc. The shoes in the photos reinforce that. Also, I found the whole thing rather intimate, nicely set against the vast impersonal backdrop that is New York.
Kudos to Gawker.com for pointing them out!
Thanks, now I walk around all hunched over just in case there’s art underfoot. My posture hasn’t been this bad since my bottlecap collecting days.
