Rachelle & Mark Eating Chinese Pastries, Chinatown, Manhattan
Shortly after I first moved to New York and was feeling broke or just needed to get out of the office, Mark used to take me to Chinatown for chinese pastries. I’d usually get the scallion hotdog bun and a sweet bun for dessert. With a soda, the cost of an entire lunch is under $3. Today is Mark and my last day working together, after having worked together both on the West and East coasts for over 3 1/2 years. He’s accepted a position at RGA and will be starting while I’m on vacation in Seattle. To commemorate our last day we walked over to Chinatown, even though I’ve always vowed not to go in there in the summer, and got chinese pastries.
This is the paragraph where I should write how thankful I am for Mark having a big hand in hiring me when I was just some programmer girl on a phone interview in Wisconsin trying desperately to get a job in San Diego. And how grateful I am to have him as a friend and mentor and to have learned so much about advertising and interaction design while working with him. I’m pretty sure that all goes without saying though… Good luck, Killer!
Awwwwwww shucks….
*smile*
congrats mark. their site is quite spiffy.
oh, and my personal vote is for the coconut buns. man i love those.
tien – in this photo im holding a hotdog bun and mark has a coconut creme one. i have a coconut creme one on my desk right now………
that’s the sweetest “thank you” and tribute to a friend I have ever heard.
Mark … yeah, that guy’s alright!
nope, no love for the coconut cream…just the plain ole coconut. i don’t like the cream in chinese deserts.
Chinese pasteries are the best.
Asians make the best cakes too…nice and light with fruit and cream…not too sweet…mmmmmmm
