Inspired by Nick, and with his help last night, I put together this 360 degree, VR movie of my office. Now that I know how to do it I want to go somewhere cool and put one together… Times Square.. Central Park.. SoHo… the possibilities are endless.

nice site…:)
i’m a web designer from england
Kuldip xxx
nice work! i like it!
man, i want two computers at my desk.
My cube is the one with the denim jacket on the chair (obviously I took these photos a while ago). I have a G4 on the right and a Dell on the left. I hooked a mac monitor up to my PC and my mac has a Sony monitor so people always think that the mac is on the left and the PC on the right. I use the mac 95% of my time and only use the PC for testing.
why would you do that? i mean, does the sony monitol look better? i think that person with the cube next to you needs to organize their desktop a little better.
the sony monitor is bigger and better than the apple one. what desk needs to be organized? danielle’s isnt really messy and the other one is deserted.
Nice to know that you’re a true Apple geek, even at work!
Kuldip – glad you like the site!
Scott – I think I’m the only apple geek on our programming staff!
Is uberdesign.com Nick Dickeys?
actually, i meant the desktop on the monitor of the mac (the one that looks like it has a mac keyboard in front of it) and not the actual desk top.
hey, maria.. how are you? uberdesign is the site of my other friend, nick. he lives out in santa monica. are you still in the bay area? i havent seen nick dickey for quite a while.. need to figure out what that boy is up to!
tien – that is pretty messy.. i’ve seen worse.. like on my home computer!
well, i cant really talk. i have 6 columns that are 13 rows tall of icons on my work computer. but with os x at home, i just have 4 desktop icons.
i feel so violated. rachelle at least your desktop was covered with your screen saver!
Very cool Shell. I got a camera like yours last night because my digital fuji went kapoot. Took it back to Circuit City and the girl ripped off a piece of paper and wrote 1-888-888-FUJI too bad for YUJI on it and sent me on my way. They won’t even send it in for ya.
For someone with the domain “uberdesign,” Nick’s bedroom is pretty uninspired!
whatever, fred! i like it.
Rachelle–okay, I give: how in the world did you accomplish this?
yes! fred – you are completely right. i mean, it’s got framed art, that *i* find appealing. that was soooo selfish. i should have emailed *you* first and found out what type of art *you* liked before i hung it up years ago. and those damn guitars – they just take up space for other things that could suggest something more creative. i mean what can you do with those?? and this one is totally my fault – i screwed up! i did the the obvious. i painted a 15-foot wall bright orange. everyone is has that, i know. i know!
you’ve inspired me to move on. i’m changing my ways. i’m going to paint my walls that truly inspiring shade of egg-shell white again. we’ll call it “consultant chic.” i’ll take down that damn artwork and leave my walls blank, forcing me to creatively imagine art! fred, you are a genius!
i totally forgot about the universal axiom of living spaces, fred. “organized=death.” just the thought of a mess fills me with motivation! from now on, i swear to leave my dirty-boxers all over the floor, hanging off lamps, stuffed behind doors. you’ll see DVDs thrown willy-nilly all over the room – out of their cases! putty-colored sheets (or other inspired patterns from bed, bath and beyond) will be gleefully tossed on the ground. [gasp!] in a heap, ne, a ball! it’s filling me with inspiration right now!
as of now, fred, i will stop hand-making a craftsman-style dresser drawer, because it just isn’t “inspiring” enough – pressboard will do. no, wait, how would fred do it? that’s it! cardboard! it’s the only way! i will fold it together — but creatively! so many more possibilities when your furniture is foldable!
fred, you have truly changed my world! how can ever thank you. i’m gonna do it your way.
fred, i love you.
Fred, you called down the thunder. Well now you got it.
hey, ken
i noticed your site as one of my referrers a while back and have been visiting it on occassion since.. I like the new design you’ve been working on.
to answer your question, on my camera and also on my desktop i have software that allows me to take a series of photos and stitch them together either to make a quicktime movie like this or a really long panaramic.
Hey! Thanks for the compliment. I originally found your site through the GeoURL project and have been reading since because we go to church in the Village, and it’s cool to check out your photos of the area.
Thanks for the answer, too. Are you using Photoshop? My wife thought it would be a good idea to do a panorama from the inside of our birdcage. I have no idea how she came up with that.
Hey, Sue.. Kelly told me you got a new camera and it was the same model as mine.. how do you like it?
Ken – I use photoshop, but I didn’t use it to make this movie. If you can get inside your birdcage to make a panorama…… i’d like to see the results!! !hahah. I guess i didn’t realize that you guys live in the city. Do you go to the church in the village that my friend was photographing the other night?
Of course, now that I wrote it down in a public forum, we *have* to do it, right?
I’ll let you know how it goes.
We actually live in a suburb in New Jersey–by Rockaway. We go to church at The Village Church, which meets at a building (not ours) on 7th Avenue and 11th Street, which is only a few blocks away from where Mark was taking photographs. The commute is actually okay: ~50 minutes on a good day. We were really thinking twice about driving so far until someone told us that it took her about the same amount of time via the subway.
