The Parker Grey Show

The Parker Grey ShowIn Early May, Kristen Buckley contacted me via my site to say she enjoyed reading it, having lived in New York City for 12 years. She told me she’d written a book called The Parker Grey Show and asked if I’d like to get an advance copy of it to read. Further research (Google stalking!) revealed that Kristen was one of the screenwriters on both How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and 102 Dalmations. And that New Line Cinema has bought screen rights to The Parker Grey Show (for an measly 7-figures) and it is currently being adapted into a screenplay for a movie. Anyway, the book arrived and I quickly tore through it while wasting sunny afternoons at the Hudson River Park, while on the subway to and from the Bronx, and finally finishing last night while waiting for Jeannette & Melissa to get their haircut at the Aveda salon on Spring Street.

Parker Grey.. she’s a friend of mine. She lives on North Moore in Tribeca. She eats at the Corner Bistro in the West Village. She parades around in her underwear when nobody is home and she uses Mario Badescu skincare products. Parker Grey is in her late 20s, hates confrontation, and lies to cover her insecurities. Parker Grey is living my lifestyle. Reading this book felt like sitting down with a girlfriend for a cup of coffee and having her tell me a crazy adventure she had last week. The high level of identification with the main character is what I really enjoyed about this book. If you’re a friend of Parker Grey and you want to read about her outrageous escapades, pick up a copy of The Parker Grey Show when it’s released in July. Even better, preorder it from amazon.com!

I know she is, you jerk! You’re making me feel bad because yesterday was the first week that I didn’t wish her a happy birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!! I even said it to a friend while out last night.

Well, I’m the ‘friend’ in question and I don’t recall hearing about Jessica’s birthday once the whole evening.

Just kidding, of course. Inbetween gawking at Luke Wilson and stalking NYC power-bloggers, there were more than a few incidents of Rachelle expressing her guilt over not posting her usual Thursday ode to baby Jessica.
