Jess & I found a salon in the East Village where we could get a manicure and a pedicure for $25. Great deal. And this place came highly recommended from Jess’s roommate’s girlfriend. So, after work we speed walked from Tribeca to the East Village and ended up grabbing a cab on Broadway to make it to the salon on time for our appointment. When we walked in, there was a woman who was “so sorry” but they had sent all of their technicians out on a photo shoot and nobody was there for our appointment. She said they tried to call everyone that was scheduled but they didn’t have a phone number to contact us, which is very funny because I distinctly remember giving her my phone number when I made the appointment. Grr. This woman really did seem sincere, gave us each gift certificates for free manicures, and promised to take extra special care of us if we rebooked appointments, but I was still SO mad!! I will give them one more chance and if it doesn’t go right I will make sure I say bad things about them so that when you search on Google for their salon it comes up with bad reviews. I’m evil.
In better news, we found a nice little restaurant called Ovo that has a great Prix Fixe deal if you go there before 6:30 for dinner.

there’s a place near me that does $5 manicures and $10 pedicures.
maybe that’s why my nails always look crappy.

whoa. that’s way cheap. do they do a good job? i guess who really cares if they’re barely charging you anything!

Cheap! Holy crap! Even $25 for both is cheap! I hope it all works out for you.
Now what you should do - is have a “spa” themed girl party. Do manicures and pedicures and facial treatments - drinks included. Wouldn’t that be fun?!

yeah that was very annoying yesterday - let’s see what we can get for it though… manicure certificate.. let’s try for the entire thing free!
Definately get the fresh green salad at OVO .. oh and check out the bathroom.. it is sweet!
