Michael Sporn Animation Inc., West Village, Manhattan
Michael Sporn Animation opened up in the basement of my building a couple months ago. At first they only had a piece of paper with their name handwritten on it. Now they’ve billed enough work to afford a whiteboard. I kind of like it.
Update: I dug around and found this IMDB profile. Do you think it’s the same guy? If so, I take back my little dig about having a whiteboard for a sign because I love The Poky Little Puppy. And because it looks like he’s an academy award nominee.
This proofs I have a sick mind:
I was reading: Michael’s porn Animation Inc.
ha.. funny. I thought I was bad!
Hi:
Glad you like the sign.
The only reason the pasteboard was put up was so that delivery people could find us (until I got my act together and produced a real sign).
And by the way, it’s hard to get my name in my email is because “Michael’s Porn” is already out there!
Michael Sporn
hello, neighbor -
so, inquiring minds want to know.. are you the same michael sporn that’s listed on IMDB and was nominated for an academy award?
i suppose maybe i should go downstairs and properly introduce myself… see what you guys are up to down there
Hi:
Yes I’m the guy on IMDB. Please feel free to come down and say hello. It’s amazing what that little sign on the ironwork has done. Most people think we sell cels and come buy to see our store. Maybe we should open shop (we certainly have cels to spare!)
Hi. I am an animation student, and I was wondering what Mr. Sporn’s policy is on talking to people like me. I understand that you’re busy and may not be able to spare the time, but you seem very nice based on these posts. Never hurts to ask anyway. Just where in the Village is this place anyway?
In Maryland, http://www.mcps.k12.md.us/departments/itv/ TV channel, they were showing Mr. Sporn films this morning.

-Jazztime Tale
He is very talented, and his dedication and passion for his work is very admirable.
Growing up in Central Europe (Budapest), watching lot of Russian/Chech/Polish/Hungarian/East German animated films.
I have a real craving even now to see some quality animations.
Michael Sporn does that, and I thank him for it.
(I am a big fan of Jan Svankmajer too.)
I am looking for a new copy of “Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel” either on video or DVD. Do you still produce it? My grandchildren have worn out our one and only copy. Thank you, Susan
Hi
Do you have rights to your cartoons for
South Africa.
Regards.

Yo Michael. You never know where old friends will turn up…
yo michael. never know where old friends will turn up…
Michael:
Well I thought I’d drop you a line. My most favorite job of all time was as your studio manager and Assistant producer. A week doesn’t go by that I don’t miss working for you. The studio was amazing and being able to launch
Sporn-O-Graphics with you was an incredible opportunity. Being a part of Ira, Jazztime, Talking Eggs and all the rest was a great time in my life. And HEY, if you’re ever looking, here I am. Best of everything, Denise.
love your work

What’s the chance of you hiring an animator like me to work for you? I’ve just graduated from doing a Bachelor of Animation in Australia and am looking for a place to put my talent to work. I am willing to move country if there is a job available.
