Pigs Fly Building

West Village, Manhattan

The Duane Reade pharmacy in the basement of the 6th/Waverly store is one of the most miserable places on earth.

I hate it when you notice a store on your block closed and then for the life of you cannot remember what was even there.

Why isn’t target=”_blank” working in my comments?!

My apartment smells. At least my room doesn’t.

I added a links section to my right-hand sidebar. I may move it down farther, but I plan to keep it on the right and update it daily. I devised a nifty scheme that automates the process so I don’t really have an excuse not to keep it up to date.

what makes that Duane Reade so miserable? There HAS to be some good stories about your experiences there

It’s not on the greatest part of 6th Avenue. The people working there are hating every second and counting down the seconds til their shift is over. There is stuff everywhere. It’s not organized. It’s an old store. You walk down into the basement and there’s this gross smell that I can’t quite place. It’s not like rotting food or BO but it’s strange. There’s like this yellow cast on everything. The lighting is weird. The cashier doesn’t really have a clue what’s going on. The pharmacist seems knowledgble, but because her assistant/cashier isn’t, she’s over worked and stressed to the max. They make you wait for everything. Even something that takes 2 seconds. They have no chairs to sit down and wait so everyone is just standing there staring at each other at their wit’s end. I’ve also had several bad experiences with them in the past and not just at this location, so I’m put off by them in general. I’m in the process of switching everything over to the CVS that’s closer to my house. They’re much nicer there.

Good things happening there? I don’t know. Eventually, if you’re lucky, you get your drugs.

Not to cast aspersions on your alt tag, but I don’t see a single flying pig on that building. In fact, the only animal that looks like it is putting an effort into flying is that cow at the bottom, and it doesn’t look like he is having much success. Perhaps alt=”Animals falling out of the sky building” would be more appropriate?
