Even though he quit smoking in January, it was Yvan’s mission to publicly smoke through an entire pack of cigarettes before the midnight cut-off on Saturday. NYC’s public buildings, including restaurants and bars, are now officially smoke free. I suspect this sign will soon be taken down at Waverly Diner, where we had brunch.

From Gawker: “How badly do you want to smoke? Frankie and Johnnie’s in Hoboken hopes the answer is “So badly I’d even go to Hoboken (where there is no smoking ban.)” It’s like one of those questions about how you’d rather die–freezing to death or burning to death. Which is worse–no smoking or Hoboken?”
