Last night we gathered to bid Chuck farewell and good luck. This is his last week at work and he will be joining the USA Network on Tuesday. Chuck sits across the hall from me and I’ll truly miss our daily banter.

Then, last minute, I got tickets to go to the U.S. Open with Chuck and his wife Tiffany and one of Chuck’s friends. It was surreal. The stadium too bright and clean, the fans too polite, the announcer too English. Who would imagine taking an elevator in a stadium up to their seats? When the match was delayed because it started sprinkling, there was a team of men all dressed the same who came out with little white hand towels and blotted the court. Eventually, the game was called off because of the light mist/sprinkling that was occurring. Pansies.

Afterwards, we went to Jackson Heights, which should be called Little India, and ate some really gnarly Indian food.
