So.. I did some investigating. It’s the 9th Avenue International Food Festival. I walked up and down the entire length of it, 20 blocks starting at 57th and going south. It has everything you’d expect from a regular fair: vendors selling cheap tshirts, jewelry and sunglasses, hotdogs and funnel cakes on every corner, and men peddling miracle potions that will take a stain out of anything. But… at what kind of street fair can you get oysters in a half shell? lobster? quail? french pastries? spanish, dominican, chinese, carribean, thai, greek, french, puerto rican, mexican, german, japanese, american, and polish cuisines? full pigs rotating on spickets over an open fire? The 9th Avenue International Food Festival. I have a feeling I’ll be gaining some weight today!

Who does the quail. Best I ever ate. Done with Feta cheese and olive oil. I tried to duplicate it but I can’t.
