Rain
May 31st, 2002 · Comments Off
This is the worst rain storm I’ve seen for a couple of years (since it hardly rains in southern California). The rain is coming down in buckets, the streets look flooded. You see flashes of people running when the lighting strikes. The thunder is nonstop booming. I can hear people on the street cheering at the really bright/loud thunder and lighting combinations.

After talking with and being on hold with the NY State Tax board for over and hour, I’m as angry as ever. At both them and the CPA firm that prepared my taxes. I was supposed to get a decent sized return back and it’s turning out that I’m having to pay in an amount over double the size of the return that I had coming. Warning: everyone better stay away from me today.

Ground Zero Cleanup Procession, Tribeca, Manhattan (Photos by Alessandro)
This morning for a little while, work basically shut down while everyone went downstairs to watch the procession from the closing ceremony of the ground zero cleanup effort pass by our building on Canal Street. A truck carried the last steel girder to be taken from the site.
