Moving to a New Neighborhood

November 1st, 2001 · No Comments

I’m starting to get settled into my new apartment. A new neighborhood, new restaurants and stores to explore, new furniture, new way to get to work, unpacking, a new roommate. It’s both exciting and comforting.

Tuesday night when I was moving I was riding in a cab with a bunch of bags and my computer and my cab driver was racing down a narrow street. Instead of slowing down for a bunch of people he just kept right on and honked his horn through them. One guy who was in the group of pedestrians got mad and punched the cab window…. about 2 inches from my face! It was LOUD! I swear this guy must have broke his hand doing it. Then the idiot cab driver stopped the car so that he and the broken hand guy could exchange profanities. I was like “what the hell are you doing?! GO!” I thought the broken hand guy was going to open the cab door (with his good hand) and drag me out! Welcome to New York!

I’m eating Nerds. It makes me feel like a little kid in a movie theater.
