Orbit Gum

I’m a sucker, here’s why:
1) I don’t chew gum because I have TMJ.
2) Orbit gum is new.
3) Orbit gum was marketed heavily with weird commercials in San Diego.
4) Orbit gum was displayed nicely at a drug store in New York.
5) Orbit gum is packaged beautifully and different than any other gum.
6) I bought Orbit gum.
7) I’m chewing Orbit gum. 8) My jaw hurts.

    I love this gum but the packaging I do not like. The box does not stay together and the gum falls out. The Crest gum falls apart after chewing and turns to mush.

    We agree with Heather. We LOVE orbit, especially the two new flavors, but the packaging is annoying. The gum sticks at first so its hard to pull the first piece out-and then the others eventually fall out all over my purse or worse..to the ground when the back seal loosens.
    As for Joe…..you’re rude, you’re the retard!

    Hmm.. Yes, gum and TMJ don’t go together at all. I go through random bouts of TMJ, though only occurring at night (perhaps stress?), and it sure sucks!

    I have no clue what Joe Bob is talking about! The package rips open throwing all of the gum into my pocket. My friends and I are going to come up with a prototype of a new package to donate to the Orbit company. Come on, I’m 14, and I am thinking these things? I thought that the makers would have thought of a much better package to stay together when it is open. :To the company: YOU NEED BETTER GLUE!: Who ever is with me on making this new package, I have three new prototypes and e-mail me with anymore sugestions.     Orbit Gum is great! I agree with some others that the packaging is terrible and almost always falls apart. The first piece is always difficult to take out. I like the cellophane wrap on the outside though.

    wow.. you guys got too much time on your hands.. I was busy lookin for orbit online cuz the price but i ended up here. While I’m here, a quick way to fix the packs is to put a piece of scotch tape going around the lower part of each side. Peace.

    I’d have to agree with Alex here. I think you do have too much time on your hands. To think that poeple would actually sit and write about gum is an amazing thought.
    Then again . . . What am I doing? Sitting and writing about gum. I’m doing a research paper on Orbit. Yes, it’s about the best gum gets. I like the new flaves, but peppermint is still my fave. Ciao, everybody.

    Oh, yeah. Joe Bob is a blasphemous ass who needs to get a life. The packaging could use a bit of work, but the design is really effective. As long as your prototypes keep the awesome look that the package already has, I’m all for better boxes. Slan!

    Wow. I thought it was just me? Now I see this is a nationwide problem with the Orbit packaging falling apart lol. I use tape too! At first I thought I was crazy, taping my gum box but now that I see I’m not the only one I feel a lil better. BTW Rachelle, your site is the coolest, I don’t even know how I came across it one day but now I’m on it all the time. Your pics are fabulous.

    The most recent commercial features two gals practicing some martial art. One of them breaks a nail and cries out, “Chi’ Wa!”. I know thats probably horribly mispelled, but can anyone translate the phrase? My partner and I are dying to know what that means. As for the packaging, it does suck!! But the gum rocks. Long live Orbit gum.

    I decided to try this gum just today. It’s good stuff, especially the spearmint. About the packaging, a lot of my friends’ boxes of this gum broke, but so far, mine hasn’t. Does it differ between boxes?

    I am not entirely sure what she says in the commercial myself and have been searching the net to find out. I do however speak a bit of japanese. If it is japanese that she is speaking, she most likely said “shi wa” which is I believe like saying “Blood!”. As in she wants the other chick’s blood.

    I figure it’s either Chinese or some variation on ‘che’ which is an interjection that’s often translated ‘darn’ or ‘crap’ (or their harsher versions0.

    orbit is my favorite gum..it’s all i chew…the bubblemint is the best, but the packaging is most definitely horrendous..like you’ve all said it sticks at first and when u finally get it out like 5 pieces come at once, then the box just kinda falls apart and they all come out…

    For the guy who said he “hates fake British accents” — I happen to personally know the Orbit Girl (I used to work with her sister) and she is a very sweet girl, and the accent is real!!! She is also fluent in French and Mandarin Chinese. I wish her all the best. And I love the Orbit commercials!!!!!

    Where can I find an archive of previous Orbit gum commercials? I saw one late last year that had a friend of mine it. I was the Martial Arts one where two women go at it until the Asian lady breaks a finger nail and starts cursing in Mandarin. My friend is the guy who plays the MC. (Paul Yao) Let me know so I can share it with all our other friends who missed this short aired commercial.
